EQ Careers and Recruitment

We recognise that our people and their knowledge are our biggest asset if we are to provide the high quality service our clients have come to expect.

We seek to employ people with an enthusiastic and progressive attitude and, above all, commitment.

Not only do we provide our people with an exceptional training ground, we guarantee a professionally rewarding career with an emphasis on continued professional development. The latter is actively encouraged through our performance appraisal scheme.

We seek to provide an environment where our people have every opportunity to grow both professionally and personally and fulfil their aspirations at each stage in their career.

We are often looking for skilled, multi-talented people to join our team.

Below we have summarised some of the opportunities we are able to provide:-

Graduates

We have secured six graduates to commence Chartered Accountancy training contracts in August 2008.  Any further placements will be advertised on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland on-line application www.ca-training.co.uk.    We would invite you to apply via this medium. If you have any trouble with this method of application, please contact recruit@eqaccountants.co.uk.

NB. External sites will open in new window.

Our minimum requirement is generally an honours degree (2:1 or above) in any discipline and no requirement for a work permit over the initial three year training contract..

Newly Qualified/Finalists

For those individuals, we are able to offer superb opportunities in a pro-active general practice. You would have responsibility for a portfolio of clients (under partner/manager supervision) and the ability to develop your technical skills in an excellent environment. We offer genuine career prospects to ambitious individuals and an attractive remuneration package.

Generally, we look for people who have recently completed the professional exams with ICAS, ACCA or ICAEW (or are about to do so) and have relevant practice experience within the UK.

To apply for such a vacancy, you may send your CV and covering letter to our Training Manager, Jenny Law.

Graduate Work Experience Placements

Within our offices, we offer students the chance to come and work for us for a few weeks over the summer. This gives the student the opportunity to see what working for a progressive, medium sized accountancy practice is really like before making any final decisions about what they want to do after graduation.

Summer student, Gemma Keillor, spent 12 weeks with us. Read what she had to say

Summer 2008 vacancies will be advertised on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland on-line application site from January 2008.

We also supported the RGU Placement Scheme by employing a student throughout their third year during 2006/07, read what she had to say of her experience. RGU placement vacancies will be advertised within RGU for 2008/09.

Other Work Experience Placements

At times, we also offer work experience placements through various local schools and colleges. If you are interested in such a placement please contact recruit@eqaccountants.co.uk

Accounting Technicians

We are often looking for bright, ambitious people who are looking towards further formal studies within a work environment. Generally, we look for people with the ability to study at university but who make the choice, for whatever reason, not to pursue this route. These positions may suit school/college leavers as no work experience is necessary.

We would be happy to receive your CV. Please send it to Jenny Law, EQ Chartered Accountants, Westby, 64 West High Street, Forfar, DD8 1BJ or email recruit@eqaccountants.co.uk.
